Beware Of Fake 'Health' Foods
I see so many people eating foods that are labeled as "healthy" and they honestly believe they are having a good lunch. When the truth is they are eating some unhealthy foods. If they were to look into the labels or have a little more knowledge about diets and foods they could know this. So what are some of these fake "healthy foods".
-
Fat Free/ Regular Pb: PB to begin with is considered a more healthy fat however the low fat version has something similar to cake icing in it to make it taste better and is also lower in the healthy fats. Also regular not natural PB has hydrogenated oils aka trans fat lowering good cholesterol and increasing bad cholesterol.
-
Salad: Don't get me wrong salads are full of vitamins. They are healthy until people do their damage. They add bacon bits, croutons, large amounts of cheese, and glop on the fatty dressing. I have seen many people that honestly believe they are eating good when in all reality this salad is full of fat and calories.
-
Croutons: The argument can be made they don't add many calories, however look further into the product and you will see that they are made with refined flours which are high on the gylcemic index. These refined flours spike blood sugars and triggers your body to stop burning fat.
-
Granola bars: Sure they are full of healthy oats but many of them are filled with high fructose corn syrup.
-
Fat-Free Salad Dressing: The fat free label attracts people as health food but like the PB sugar is added to it in order for it to taste good. Also if eating a salad you do not allow your body to absorb the vitamins from the veggies that are fat soluble.
-
Pretzels: I have seen people shove these down their throats because it is not that high in calories. However there is enriched flour which will raise your blood sugar.
-
Fruit Cups: Sure fruit is healthy until these cups are filled with sugary syrups.
Many of these have a much more healthy option that is very similar to the other. But because of their labels and what they may be called makes it a false health food. Beware not everything is what it seems.
